Axle ratio confirmation

Well, I tore into the front end of the 51 to figure out what the wobbly wheel problem was, and after tearing it all apart, I found bad knuckle bearings...but the large part of that problem is that the lower knuckle pin has broken off where it was welded, and it moves around a bit. Figureing that will be pretty tough to weld and align just right, I figure I will just swap the entire front end since I seem to have been given just such a unit. That will also solve the spring issues I've got (the two front springs aren't the same).

Question is are the gear ratios labeled on the outside of the differential anywhere? They seem the same...about 2.8ish driveshaft turns to one wheel turn...one wheel on the ground. I'd like to be absolutely certain though. I think the spare I have is probably off an earlier truck...perhaps a 48ish.

Are there any other problems I might encounter in doing such a thing? Will the U-joints be the same design? I like the system I took out rather than the ball bearing things I've seen.

Thanks for any insights...
