The tranny has an electrical lockout that does not allow for starts when in gear. The shift lever moves the linkage that connects to the opeating levers on the left side of the transmission. The linkage is adjustable in length right where it connects to the operating levers. Watch the direction the lever moves when shifting into park,and then loosen the nut and adjust the linkage rod so that the tranny lever moves further into the park position. You may have to fool with it until you get it right. Be sure to put the parking brake on and/or block the wheels so that the truck does not roll while you are doing this. This situation can result from linkage wear, or shifting of the cab or tranny. Good luck
