Hi Guys

Up here where Winters are real cold water in gas tanks is a regular hazard. They sell the cheap Methyl Hydrate alcool and the more expensive Isopropyl alcool. According to the techies Isopropyl alcoolm will mix far easier with water than the cheaper methyl stuff.

I f you by Isopropyl alcool get the pure stuff in an industrial shop or paint shop.... it will be 95+% pure. In any event even a 60 % alcool 40% water will ignite and burn so your engine should not suffer.

In the winter time I add 8 oz of Isopropyl alcool every two to 3 weeks to each tank in the Ford P/U and the wife's car. At -40 it doesn't take much water to freeze up your fuel line between the tank and the carb. Carefull too much can damage plugs.

In the old M37 fuel stablelizer and a quart of Isopropyl alcool get dumped in in mid December and a Pint of gas added to the crankcase ............. so if I need the sucker in mid January at 2 in the morning I know it will go.
