If the markings are still legible, then yes you can trace the history. There are two types of marking. (1) is the REGISTRATION no. on the sides of the hood and lower center portion of the tailgate. (2) is the UNIT markings on the front bumber and rear bumberettes. These are often one number or letter above a second on the m37. The unit markngs are the easiest way to identify the vehicle history...First Army---Airborne---HeadQuarters---vehicle no. 12....would read 1A AB HQ 6 Find these UNIT markings then ask and someone will have an answer quickly or purchase the "Unit Marking" manual from Portrayal Press. Once you have this info a little leg work should tell where the vehicle was. Hope this helps.
