Ah, yes, a '50 plymouth! It was my first car, and my first exposure to the Chrysler flathead! I was given one as a boy, sans ignition coil. (they figgered that would keep me from starting it!)In few days, I had figgered out how to get spark to the distributor center tower with an old ford model T spark coil in a box, powered by a 110 volt transformer. I drove that old car up and down the driveway hundreds of times, as far as the extension cord would reach. I learned a lot from that old car, and I still have the marvelous set of 6 volt trumpet horns from her! Your 218 must've had rilly strong rod bolts!
