Joe, first thing I did after buying my '51 M37
was to change every fluid to synthetic. I used
synthetic GL5 in both diff's, the transmission
and the transfer case. So far, no leaks, quieter
operation and easier shifting in colder weather.
Actually, I've still got petroleum oil in the
engine, but I'll switch to synthetic at the
next change.
Wanted to clean the engine a bit with pertroleum
oil/detergents, then swtich to synthetic.
