If you mean the runny Permatex # 3 known as aviation permatex, In a can with a brush, I'd not use it. Try the greenish brown permatex #2 ( I think!)paste in a tube, as it has always worked well for me. If it's fresh and you apply according to instructions, it will seal up the hole in the back end of an elephant. One other product that works well with ethylene glycol is GE high strength gray RTV silicone sealant. The key to a good seal here is good alignment, super clean bolts and holes, and even tightening. Clean your bolts & holes with a strong degreaser like denatured alcohol or brake parts cleaner, and a small round brush. Then hope for the best. Good luck!
