I looked into this possibility of an electronic
distributor and came up with this:
Its a setup called the "ignitor" . It is basically a
electronic switching module (hall cell) which is
mounted under the original distributor cap. It
eliminates the stock points and condensor.
Anyway, I have never gotten around to actually
purchase one, but I did call the company and they do make an application for the dodge
flat head 6 cyl. The cost if I remember correctly
was around $90
