You bellhousings in either PW or M37 will fit: the older flathead series of 218,231,237,250,265 CI engines all shared the same bolt pattern for the butt end. Some cranks had 4, 6, or 8 bolts, and flywheels may not interchange, tho. To mount a bigger (longer) block in he M37, just drill out the bosses in the crossmember and take out the fan spacer. Don't forget the military distributor (24-Volt) had an offset drive tang, so if you use it, use the military oil pump as well in your new motor. Good luck! dg
