With the M37 production and use spanning so many years and various rebuilds, variations will be encountered. The original, first series of trucks from '51-'57 had a dash panel from Stewart-Warner, with large, glass-lensed dash lights in red only. They went in from behind the panel, with a bayonet action, and had permanently attached wires (2). They used the 623 or similar taillight bulb. The B1 series, or later production till '64, used a dash panel from AC or SW, and light assemblies that have plastic lenses with brass caps, that screw through the panel from the front. These are much smaller than the eariler style, and they use a 313 or 1829 bulb. They also connect differently, with a wire that plugs into the assembly. The later type bulb change is easier, just unscrew the cap and pluck out the bulb. I have complete assemblies, as used in the later trucks thru today. The lenses are blue plastic instead of red so as not to make night vision goggles "bloom". You probably won't be driving with goggles, but these ARE different from the next guys. I hope this clears up the confusion, and thanks. DG.
