Sounds like the newest incarnation of the work lights for the wreckers and cranes, as mentioned elsewhere. Just pop 'em open, and reload them with a couple 12-Volt fog lamp 5" sealed beams, around 50- or 100-Watt rating. The 24-Volters sure do have a funny pattern in the lens area. dg.
