LED is the future, fluorescent lights will be phased out eventually. I recommend tandem 8' 40 watt with a 5000k or 5500k (the higher the number the closer to sunlight). Since I started selling LED 2 years ago the price has dropped 3 times! The longer you wait the cheaper they will get, hard to decide when to buy. Some are rated to last 25000 up to 50000 hours. 50k should last 11 years running 12 hours every night! Don't buy the cheapest light, the drivers that are built within the light can fail early. If I knew the size of your shop I could help with the number of lights needed.
