If you read my post below, you know what I am schemin'. I have searched high and low to find some info on using the 47RE in my Suburban swap and have come up lacking on info. I have found that other than some length issues with the 6cyl, there are no real major hurdles with fitting the 5.9ISB into the Suburban, getting the motor to run doesn't really worry me, and I am almost giddy at the prospect of having 48 gallons of diesel on board for the yearly pilgrimage to Iowa. Have any of you used the RE in any swaps? I of course have all of the donor vehicle available to poach the controls from but I have some concerns with getting things to work right like tach and speedo. I have thought about just dropping the Sub body on the Dodge frame and the gauge cluster is similar enough that I could transplant the Dodge cluster in, but Anne is really happy with the ride height of the Chevy, and I am even more happy with the ride and steering vs. the Dodge.
I'd like to pick someones brain who has dealt with a similar conversion, feel free to email me off forum.
