There are no dumb questions, only questions in search of answers. Normal there is 1/8 inch space between the brake mount on PTO. Your rear engine rubber insulators may be shot. If you using the 5/8ths bolt to hold the cab switch to 1/2 and add a piece of rubber hose between frame mount and bolt to give the clearance you need.
