I pulled the MC out last night and today I looked at the gasket. It was not torn, but it was hard/dried out. I should have looked at it before I installed it. I called Permatex tech support for advice and they have not tested their gasket sealer/maker materials against brake fluid.

I checked the flat machined surfaces and they were perfect. The 0.002" feeler was tight when the cap screws were barely snug, so no value in filing/machining that.

So I took a small inner tube and made a gasket out of that. 24 hours from now I'll let you know how it works!
