Yes - I flipped the frame over and applied a little pressure and it flexed enough that the crack in the flange went together perfectly, just like two puzzle pieces. Then I clamped the plate in and tack welded the flange.
I tried to keep everything bolted or welded as much as possible to avoid loosing the alignment.
I took short welds on the new section of rail to avoid distortion.
