I have not had cover leak problems on any of mine. I am considering a whole new top with 1/2 pipe thread and a brass fitting. That way someone could go back to a vented cap if so desired. I would make it out of 1/4 inch steel most likely.
I will, if I can, get a fitting made that fits the stock lid. that way a quicker install and I don't have to find or make a gasket for the lid.
