I purchased the floor boards from VPW. The center was used, the right board was a new repro. Very nice.

The internals of the M37 NP420 are identical to the PW NP420, just the cases are different. In looking at my PW NP420 and the M37 NP420, they do look identical. It's nice to have spare parts just in case. NO, you won't be able to transplant the NP420 guts into a crash box case.

All of the M37 transmissions have the same bolt pattern as the PW crash boxes. So, theoretically any M37 tranny will bolt up to the crash box bell housings. I think the later M37 NP420 were better transmissions, that is why I opted for the later version.

I do not know if the cover on the earlier M37 models is different than the later ones? Perhaps that is why some have said that it is a direct bolt up? However, if you're planning on the swap and get a later version, just use the cover off your crash box like I did.
