Actually I was really getting frustrated. I had been dealing with this for a week. Once again, I had it in as far as it would go, I decided to try to pull it in with the bolts. However, they stopped abruptly so I didn't force it. It felt like it was hitting something. I grabbed my flashlight and crawled up underneath to see if I could see anything.

I turned the flywheel so I could peer up into the clutch area and could see the splined shaft. I couldn't see anything wrong until I looked up the gap between the tranny and bell housing. That's when I saw the cover. I couldn't really tell if it was the problem because the gap was so small, but it got me to thinking.

So I pulled the tranny (again) and measure the covers. After measuring the cover I measured the hole in the bell housing and realized what was going on. A quick measurement of the other cover confirmed my suspicions. Now to see if I could swap them? I got lucky, they swapped, bolts holes lined right up as did the gasket. Once I swapped them, it slid right into place and bolted up.

Glad I figured it out. Now to mount shift tower and test it out. :)
