Put them up for sale here and see what the offers would be, chances are those who have said they would be worth 1,000 dollars or more would not pay that much for them because of the shipping etc. If your fellow pw guy wants to beat the best offer that someone can post publicly here on this thread right here and now then you know you getting what they are worth, simple and done with it. If someone is not willing to put there name behind the offer in public on this thread then chances are your not getting what they are worth.
