I agree with Tom, I contact my insurance and send them a photo of vehicle and VIN tag for insurance before I trailer it. And if stored and damage to structure occurs like fire, Hurricane etc. it will not be covered unless it has it's own insurance.
In Texas;
Vintage vehicle from out of state needs to be inspected by the Vehicle Task Force to check for claims of theft on National Database and they verify Manufacture VIN, etc. either bill of sale or previous title is accepted.
Insurance verification needed for registration but if you only get a title w/o registration then no insurance needed.
Antique tags are good up to five years with no Safety inspection required, but restricted to use, like car shows, parades or +/- 500 miles per year. Not as a daily driver, but most drive them more regular without issues. If used as a daily driver then standard vehicle tags are required with a annual Safety inspection.
