Remember there has been rust above the windshield with it open to the air. Big problem is mice nests over the years just living in the space and using it as a bathroom! Most PWs have had broken glass or missing not ran with heat to dry it out for many years. Sat outside with weeds growing thru the floor not being taken care of. When I cleaned my area out above the windshield I put my pressure washer wand with sand blaster tip on it and blew out several nests then ran it till the metal was clean and washed out all the sand. It was hard to paint inside but I gave it my best and stuck my camera inside for many pictures to see how it turned out. I did not fill the cavity except I did around the wiper motors to hold them solid instead of drilling holes and using brackets. The posts on the windshield I filled to block mice from getting up there again or at least slow them down. I don't think I will be spraying water around in the cab and it is sealed up good on the floor plus now has heat. I bet it is good for another 30 years but would not have lasted many more years if I had not cleaned it out and got rid of the mice nests! The nests and pee from mice held lots of moisture on the bottom side but the top was OK even though it had nests packed to the top.
