Tranny Help!

I attempting to install my m37 NP420 in my 55 FFPW. I am using studs to help align it and have it started on the studs but it won't go any farther. I have the clutch depressed with a ratchet strap the tranny is on a transmission jack. The angles all appear to be good, but it just doesn't want to go the final distance. I've turned the splines without affect. Nothing I do seems to matter.

Any suggestions, tips, tricks, things I'm not aware of????
