The wilderness airports were there before the designated boundaries. They have stayed open for emergency use and fire fighting. Also strong lobbying from pilot organizations who are able to take disabled taxpayers into the back country who would otherwise never be able to see it.
Winter has been soft on us this year. No snow and 52 degrees now. I posted the wrong name it is arrowleaf groundsel
