You're a lucky man and he's a lucky boy. Got a picture of my dad back around 1935 about to go up with his dad in the first Oregon State Forestry plane out of Gold Beach. Looked about the same age as your grandson, and about as serious. Bet he remembers this trip all his life.

Where'd you go on this flight? Do you still go into the backcountry in the summer? Been dreaming about summer road trips, maybe from Red Ives through Chamberlain Meadows, down to the Clearwater, then Moose Creek, Kelly Forks, Cayuse Creek and Toboggan ridge. Did that about 10 years ago and part of it 3 years ago and would like to go back and explore some more. Got to looking at aerials on the Internet and thought of you when I found some videos of flying into Cayuse Creek. Never seen a plane there when I've been there, but it's cool that they still keep some of those wilderness strips open. There's one way up the Selway that doesn't even have a road into it. They must have walked a cat in cross-country from somewhere to build it, sort of like in the Pasayten. Anyway, great picture.
