Lay the box down with shafts towards you. Grab the two shafts in your two hands, thumbs up on both hands. Turn the input shaft, the other thumb should turn the same way for standard rotation,. If it turns opposite direction, it is a reverse rotation box.

The guys in the junk yard might have thought I was talking to people that weren't there. I would bend over to look under a truck, then stand up and give two thumbs up, while staring into space and wiggling my thumbs. Or maybe they thought I was a dizzy Hawaiian? Or flashing gang signs?

No boxes I could find in pick-ups worked.(1970 +/- IHC did, same Saginaw we use) You need a reverse rotation from a vehicle with cross over steering BEHIND the front axle. 1970 +/- Ford F250 is it. Input above frame, looong output shaft. It wants to mount inside of frame, so a mount bracket needs fab for outside use. Or mount it inside somewhere, that would move a lot of pitman arm under frame, making room for the fat tire on right turns. Maybe.
