Are the Injectors original or did you put in new or rebuilts ?
I am thinking.....you may have some injectors that are dripping, not closing off fully. This will cause a flooding condition. When you start the cold engine, the injectors have quit dripping/flooding, and the engine is clear, and you get a good normal start. Shut down a warm engine and an immediate restart, the injectors have not yet had time to drip a lot and flood. Shut down a hot engine, injections lines are up to pressure, let her sit as you mention, and in that time the injectors have dripped a lot of fuel into the combustion chambers.
I would have a injection shop run a pop off test on the 4 injectors and see if they are operating correctly and at the right pressures. I am having a problem wrapping my arms around any KSB involvement with the problem as you describe ??
