Forget the timing light and loosen the dist up start the engine and move the dist to see if it goes away then see what it is with the light. If you can stop the stumble take it for a drive and see how it runs no ping, accelerates good. Try starting it again if it fires right off let it cool down and start it again. If it fires off good then leave it there. Buy a new set of plugs and stick them in they can cause things to go wrong if there getting fowled from all the adjustments of fuel and choke use. Your not wasting money cause if there good you can use them later. Make sure the springs are clean in the dist if it isn't a vacuum dist. If it is a vacuum dist make sure it works suck on the hose & block it with your toung and see if it holds and not leaking.
