You can spend a lot of time deciding, draining and replacing fuel because you think there is water, or you can spend a few bucks on a jar of water detecting paste and check the tank before you make the problem worse by trying to start a machine on water.

I don't attempt to start anything that has been sitting without checking for water since the advent of alcohol containing fuels.

If you do have water, it's at the bottom of the tank and easy to remove. All you need is a small vacuum pump and a gallon glass jar to build a trap, and you can remove the water easily leaving the fuel behind.

Even if you mixed fuel and water, the water will settle out in a few hours as has been proven at airports for years.

Adding "dry gas" is little more than adding frustration to the problem.
