I am facing the quandary so many of us have faced, are facing, or will face. My ooooold Buckshot QR7816 Gumbo Mudders on my '66 F350 plow truck are wearing down past the point of syping, which I have had done at least 3 times since the tires were new. Plowing snow on any grade is getting tricky because the truck wants to slide sideways or won't move on the packed snow/ice. I have new, syped STA 900 16 tires on my WDX and unless I have a load of sand or firewood in the back, it has the same problem.
I need to replace the Buckshots with something that will work as well as they did when they were newer. But the constant problem is finding a tall, narrow, and aggressive radial tire.
I don't think the Yellow Sea clones will work like I want them to on snow and ice. You can really get into a jamb with a truck with a plow on it.
And I can't really run it on chains, because I would be taking the chains off and putting them on constantly.
