I don’t want to keep throwing stones, but much of the information given on this ”Hotrod Site” is good viable info, and can be used or can stir thoughts to get a wider perspective on the topic. Not everyone wants to do the tire, break or steering modifications that Ed posts but he opens minds on items that can be useful to someone’s application. And yes I like to call Ed a friend. When in the states Ed has stopped by and seen my trucks, and he has extensive knowledge and experience with old iron dodge.
I know "leave marks on" is not a known term but neither is “crap removed” or “superior crud removal” but I understand what you are trying to say, like you knew what I was referring to.
When a laser is used on glass for etching the time is in millisecond as it moves at the speed of a plotter, that time does have an effect on the surface, and when blasting with dry ice the movement is slower, I can not speculate on the temperature effect, but it works. Obviously you are experienced.
I was not promoting dry ice, rather I was trying to steer Bucky away from it’s use for his needs.
It seams, you are not in favor of dry ice, but appears it fills a special niche, and the use on generators or switch gear is only one application.
At the Budweiser plant dry ice was used to clean a plate exchanger and surrounding piping making clean-up a non issue. The Bud plant has a no silica rule not allowing the use of jack hammers or river busters to remove concrete, and in the past have used 10k, 20k, and 40k hydro blasters to remove concrete so they can lay their signature red tile and keep the drainage proper. Costly yes but they have the money and they pay it.
Google is as a good avenue for information but I do not take everything I read as truth, I also inquire with others that have experiences then make a final decision.
And no I do not plan on purchasing the equipment to use dry ice, I have a blasting cabinet for small items and take large items to the blasting and painting company down the road at the docks. thanks....Ray
