This is what I have learned:
The rule is if your FFPW came with a crash box transmission, either of the M37 trannys will bolt up. If your FFPW came with an NP420 they will not, due to the bell housing. The bell housing in the FFPW's was changed when the NP420 was introduced in late 55 early 56.
I have read that a civvy NP420 shift tower will bolt onto a M37B1 tranny (the later of the two versions of M37 trannys)? I am looking for confirmation on this?
