I had to put on a filter for my Generator noise and that helped but I could not get away from the static until I took off the Black Lacquer steel wires. I have a BK Handheld radio and the ignition noise would get into that as well. I would have to step about 5 ft back from my truck just to use the handheld. That all cleared up when I changed to new modern wires. Kind of sucked because I liked having the Black steel wires. Good luck Mark, if anyone can work it out it will be you.
