If it's a PAR 38 lamp unit you can easily substitute a PAR 38 fluorescent that will work nicely as long as a few minutes warm up to full illuminate isn't a problem.
BEST & easiest is the LED 12 volt spotlight the cops here are using. If NY salt corrosion can't kill it, nothing can.
Any way you go pretty much figure 3 years maximum on the illumination source if any electronics are involved due to solder wiskering. Even the space industry can't overcome that with all the money they have to throw.
