65 would be 318 poly. poly is short for polyspherical combustion chamber. it was an attempt to get benefits of a hemispherical chamber but with a smaller head casting. It didn't work as well as hemi but I realy love it for truck engine. tow like a big block. the later 318 from 67 on was a wedge head. poly head makes better torque. wedge head makes better high end rpms.
