Mark, when I measured up my system I found that the original brake pedal has a 7.2:1 ratio (18" at the pedal and 2.5" at the lever arm). With the linkages in my bracket system it reduces the effective ratio to 6.4:1. With 9" of pedal travel I theoretically get 1.4" of travel at the rod, but since the rod is not perpendicular to the lever arm, I lose a percentage of that travel, probably 15-20% (someone that knows how to use sines, cosines and tangents could figure it out exactly).
Anyway, the reality is that I'm using about 90% of the master cylinder travel at full pedal travel. I only have a 7" vacuum booster on my truck, so I don't think I'm going to launch myself through the windshield. I'll know in a couple weeks.
