Run it, but check (taste?)more often.
Lube oils are loaded with anti-oxidents- some are the same that Dirk Pearson eats!
Anyhow, it takes heat and 'sludge' to break down lube oils. It's another good reason to keep your crankcase ventilation system in good order, to remove the by-products of poor combustion that are in 'blow-by'.
If you've ever noticed when a gas engine 'diesels' or 'runs-on' after being shut off, the effluents don't smell like gas? It's because under the heat and compression of a warm motor what you've got is a 'cracking plant', recombining the components of gasoline into other hydrocarbons, some of which do bad things to oil, most of which do bad things to the rest of the environment.
The socialy conscious Power Wagon owner will run a PCV system, it's got to be the most cost effective pollution control device invented yet. And why waste gas out a road draft tube when you can use it to motivate?
