Lonnie has been worried, so I thought I would re-assure him that despite being only 60 miles or so from Downtown Manhattan, I am still around. So's the rock. I jacked it some more but the bottom is still some 12-18 inches below grade. I pulled some more but gave up quickly when I could see that it wasn't moving much.

OK. The next idea I have is to get a couple of snatch blocks and multiply the winch power. I will also make sure that there isn't much on the spool so I get more leverage there.

Any good sources for snatch blocks?

Now if we could get those SOB's to fly one of their own planes into the rock, ... We sure as hell wouldn't miss them, and I wouldn't miss the rock either.
