Look at what Ken was saying....
Check your "Tools > Internet Options > General" tab. At the bottom is a history dialog box. In the little white window shows the number of days you told the computer to keep your history. Sounds like you've got it set pretty short. I never mess with mine - set to 20 days - works for me.
