Don't you find it odd that our gov feels that it safer that to give this stuff to third-world countries that are on the verge of falling to revolution by people like Bin Laden than letting their own law-abiding people buy them. These MV owners are the first ones to raise the flag and applaud the actions of the government but it isn't safe to let them guard our military legacy. Their is no battlefield memorials {in this country} or such {since the civil war} that we can use to teach our childern history, we are the keepers of the only enduring historical artifacts of WWI, WWII, Korea and Viet-nam. The vets from WWI are gone, WWII are going, we are the gaurdians of the mechianical vets from those wars for future generations. History on occasion needs to be touched from time to time to be real, books alone don't cut it.
My family was touched recently when we stopped at the Chickamunga Nat. Battlefield, we felt the souls of those who fought there, we could see what they saw, we, could paint the picture in our imagination of the battle. I always though of it as a field, two lines of soldiers face in a field. But it was field after field, one row of cannons, after another. Would the gov plow that under to build a strip mall and a theme park? What about those cannons, they arn't de-milled to the point that we currently have to cap tank cannons.

Why?
