One of the first, and probably smartest things to do before firing it up would be to drain off the old engine oil and replace with some new... Even cheap stuff at first.. 18 years of sitting has undoubtly left some water and other contaminants in the pan..

Replace before cranking the engine and all of the junk wont be forced thru the entire engine..

Just one of many suggestions for firing up an old engine that has been sitting..

Isnt there a post somewhere outling the best method to do this with lotsof other suggestions?
