While I tend do agree with Mike and Steve that these vehicles are not really for the 'mechanically challenged', it's your truck and your money. Helitool makes conversion kits to do many upgrades; disc brakes, power steering, v8 transplant and master cylinder upgrade. If one did all these upgrades, I would think that the maintenance required would be lessened but not eliminated.
