I can't help but think...

as I look back on a very long day,
-that as I drove to the job site, the closer I got to the George Washington Bridge the slower I moved until I finally came to a bumper to bumper crawl.
-As I quickly got off the hiway I thought, "a typical commute".
As I tried to move up the side streets, I hit more traffic and thought that it was nothing different than yesterday.
After checking on other contractors on the site, I turned the radio on and started to think about how to get my project for the day completed. The radio is just background noise, but not today.
I did not believe what I was hearing and thought it was a modern version of War of the World. Then I heard the sirens and saw emergency personel going toward the bridge.
I heard the roar of the fighter planes every time the air raid siren went off.
I could not use the phones-ALL LINES ARE BUSY!! Other contractors never made it to the site-traffic backups.
Explosives found under the GW bridge. Less than a mile away in Fort Lee, N.J. 4 Palistinians arrested, heavily armed.
People racing home, getting supplies, water, wondering if Martial Law will be invoked.
I worked well after the sun went down and found myself driving home and saw no more than ten cars on the 23 mile trip. A strange quiet.
I got home, finally got through to my family and my parents by phone, woke them up, got my 1am lunch and dinner at one shot and thought how lucky I am to be home, how many are not so lucky, and there are people in some countries that live under these fears and conditions EVERYDAY!!!
How lucky I am to be here.
America, LOVE HER AND MAKE HER BETTER!!!
Just a few thoughts.
Mark
I hope that we are not reckless in our retailiation. There are many innocent people in the other countries.
