If your belts are squeeling then you have an accessory that is having a problem. You have a bad bearing or a failing part someplace. If it is you belts squeeling, then I would not worry about the transmission. There is no connection between the two.

Which comes first the grind or the belt squeeling. If they always occur together you have an accessory with a problem. Heck that they all are tight in their mounts and correctly lined up. Look to see if anything is getting in the way. When you spin the alternator or the PS pump what do the bearings in them sound like? Any noise? Any rattle or movement in the pulleys? Start the truck and watch the the belts and accessorys spin. Any noise? Any wobble in the pulleys or unusual movement in the belts. Turn on the lights and everything electrical (load the alternator) any diffrence in noise belt or pulley movement? Turn off the lights and etc. Have someone slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lok as you watch and listen to the belts and pulleys. Anything different looking or sounding? Do you have an air conditioner? Check it out. Turn it on wand watch and listen. Tkae you time doing this. Make sure the engine is a full operating temperature. Get it good and warm like it is when you see the problems.

Have fun. You will find the problems with a little patience.
