Am I crazy to buy this, or am I crazy not to?

Well...I took a 160 mile trip this morning to look at a '53 power wagon. Last run about 8 years ago when it was used to feed the cows. Supposedly everything works inlcuding the MU2 winch, the 4WD, the guages....Last registered 1973.

What's left of the paint looks original, Looks like a small tree might have fallen on the cab, the bumpers is a little crooked, and a ding in each of the fenders (passenger side is the worse). The doors are perfectly straight and work well. The interior is shot...but thats no biggie. Original flathead 6 (with a mouse nest on top) is not seized. Tires shot.

The non-original flatbed has an even more non original extension on the back to fit more hay for the cows. That would easily be removed.

Brakes are dry as expected.

I couldn't find any cancerous rust anywhere...not in the sills, and the frame looked pretty solid.

The truck appears almost totally complete.

The questions are:

A) would I be crazy to buy this thing?

B) Would I be crazy NOT to buy this thing?

C) Any idea what it might be worth? Asking price is $1500. I was thinking of low-balling the fellow at about $800 or a $K not because its not worth his asking price, but because I have to figure out a way to get it home (remember...160 miles).
