.010 ten thousandths
.001 thousandths
.0001 tenths
Five tenths is half a thousandth (.0005) which is what most of the drivetrain tolerances are these days. When I started in this biz (am I that old now?), it was not uncommon to see +/- .005". Engine specs are bound to be even tighter.

Green tractors are all metric these days, so the conversions get even trickier..
(.013mm is .00051")
(.13mm is .0051")
All it takes is a little bit of dirt or spilled coffee, and you can't see where that decimal is..!
