It's pretty tough stuff. Whole skins nicely tanned make beautiful hard wearing but soft coverings, the greenhide straps and pieces are really tough, can be used for horse gear, boot laces, covers for tie rod ends and a host of other uses. Depends what part of the hide is used and how it's tanned.
