Adding too much catalyst will cause it to cure before it drives off internal water. Then it precipitates out over time, underneath the paint. This happened with Dylan's '66 Sport Fury where somebody tried to "fix" the body lines. What a waste! The paint bubbled up as the water expanded and the metal surface began to rust. He dug in and saved it just in time.
