Pumping the lifters up until the valves float and get bent when the pistons hit them. I think that semi-hemi is bad about that. Be very careful about high revs until you sort it out. You can also twist off the oil pump drive shaft, cause a sudden drop of pressure and lunching the motor.

There are high volume pumps, and high pressure relief valve springs. Not necessarily a good combination.
