are you talking about the anti gel additives for winter?

or all the emissions stuff?

most of the gas stations around here put the anti gel stuff in winter fuel anyway but you can use power service or something like that to increase protection.

the low sulfur fuel is one of the the changes but the emissions controls are the other thing

as I understand it....
when you "clean up" the diesel by limiting how much fuel gets used, you create an ultra hot environment which drives up the nitrogen-dioxide creation. so they use urea to cool the exhaust and such to reduce or even eliminate this.

I think this is what VW was trying to avoid and i bet this is what they have to add to fix their issues.
